UFC Fight Night 19: CB Dollaway vs Jay Silva booked with Dan Miller hurt

Dan Miller made a name for himself in the UFC by stepping up to fight on short notice. Now the former IFL standout will get a chance to see what the sidelines feel like after an untimely infection has forced him out of his fight against CB Dollaway on Sept. 16.

MMAmadness is reporting that Octagon newcomer Jay Silva has agreed to try and cage “The Doberman” on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 19 next week.

The dangerous Silva is perfect through five fights. After submitting Mark DaPolito in his mixed martial arts debut at Ring of Combat last year, Silva went on an absolute tear, ending his next four contests by way of (T)KO.

While Miller was no pushover, Silva should be considered a very dangerous replacement — just ask Reggie Orr, who was the victim of a Silva flying knee at “Call to Arms” back in May.

Dollaway is looking to rebound from a lightning fast submission loss to TUF 8 contestant Tom Lawlor at UFC 100 on July 11. The defeat snapped a two fight win streak — he finished Mike Massenzio via first round technical knockout at UFC 92 and submitted Jesse “Yellow Submarine” Taylor at UFC Fight Night 14 with a rare “Peruvian necktie.”

The state champion wrestler out of Ohio was unsuccessful in his bid to win it all at the TUF 7 Finale on in June 2008, losing to eventual tournament winner Amir Sadollah via first round submission (armbar).

“Diaz vs. Guillard” will serve as the lead-in to the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) and will feature a main event between hungry lightweight up-and-comers and former TUF grads Nate Diaz and Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard.

In addition, Roger “El Matador” Huerta will throwdown for perhaps the last time inside the Octagon as he tries to leave on a high note against the stifling super-wrestler Gray “The Bully” Maynard.
